We’re excited to announce a new feature in Compare Media Analytics that lets you evaluate media performance over the first 30 days!

Now you can;

Compare media from the same starting point.
Focus on the crucial early days for timely optimizations.
Benchmark with intuitive relative time comparisons.

How It Works:

Choose the "First 30 Days" option for relative time comparison.
Use the dropdown menu in the chart to view daily Total Plays and Total Time Played.
The table below shows total values and additional metrics for the 30-day period.

Additional Features:

Download Chart: Save the chart as an image.
Export Data: Export your first 30-day media comparison.

🔇Cut silences in a click

They say silence is golden, but not in your videos (at least sometimes)! That’s why we’re streamlining how you edit.

This update automatically detects 2+ second silences at the beginning and end of your videos, letting you remove them in a single click.

Have a webinar recording with a nice chunk of silence at the top? Or a product demo with a friendly webcam that captures you looking for the “stop recording” button? We’ve been there. That’s why we’ve got these crucial edits covered with more to come.

How does it work?

For any video you edit in Wistia, we’ll automatically scan for silences longer than 2 seconds at the beginning and end of your timeline.

✂️ To remove them: Head to “Suggestions” and click “Apply”

For recordings and live events made with Wistia, we’ll ⚡️automatically remove the silences⚡️ as soon as you bring them into the editor—saving you an extra click! (Don’t worry, you can always undo, un-trim, or revert to the original at any time).

📂 Share folders with your team in one click!

We know that one of the most important parts of a successful video is the collaboration that it takes to get there. And we’ve heard your feedback that sometimes it takes just as long to share with each person on your team as it did to make the video (or almost!). So we made it easier to share folders with everyone in your Wistia account and grant access to content in just one click!

What’s changed?

Making it easier to start sharing: We introduced a new “share” button that you can access on your folder page and easily share all of the content in the folder.
Sharing with more people, more easily: You’ll find a General Access section when you select the share button that will now let you choose the “Anyone in my Wistia account” setting.

How does it work?

The new General Access section gives you the option to grant access to “Anyone in my Wistia account” which includes all users. You can also share with “anyone else with the link” which includes people who are not users in your Wistia account.

Looking to give all users in your account access to view a folder’s content? Enable the ‘Can View’ setting.

Interested in giving all users in your account admin capabilities where they can customize and manage media within a folder? Enable the ‘Can Manage’ setting.

Don’t worry, you can still lock or unlock your folder by using the new combinations in the General access section or clicking the lock icon to toggle on/off at the top of your Folders page.

🎨 New event customization options from start to finish updated

Your event should be uniquely yours - from on-brand colors to event images that really show what your event will be.

Customized event images give you that consistent look from start to finish, with a graphic that can be used from registration page to email. You can use one of your own images or even pull from Unsplash to find the image that’s just right for your event. We’ve even added the option to include a short trailer on your registration page so you can bring your event to life and increase interest and engagement.

And once your attendees are in the event, you don’t have to worry about them getting distracted by the event description. Now the event description has its own button so your audience can pay attention to who’s (and what’s) on stage.

Customize away and make your event shine!

How does it work?

Add an event image for a consistent look from start to finish.

Upload an image in your event overview and then the image will be automatically applied for your registration page, emails, and the screen before the event starts and after it ends (video on demand). Just 1 click to brand your entire event (instead of… 5!)

NEW Hero image resizer

Now you have ability to adjust the size of your hero image on the registration page to make it easier to keep important registration details at the top of the page and ensure people sign up for your event!

Customize your registration page with a short video, custom image or beautiful photography from Unsplash.

Navigate to Event -> Customize menu -> Registration page -> Hero. You will see an option to add a video or an image - one of your own or from Unsplash. If you choose video you can select any of your existing media and customize how the player will look. If you choose an image, it will automatically pull the event image if you set one, but you can always create a unique image just for this page. (don’t worry it won’t impact the image you set for the event thumbnail or emails). Additionally you can browse Unsplash for free high-resolution stock images to find that perfect image for your registration page.

To top it all off, you can choose the layout of the registration page, with the date and registration form on the hero or below the hero.

No more description distractions during your event!

We want your content to shine, which is why we moved the description into a separate section where viewers can choose to read it if and when they want. This feature is rolling out to all users with access to Live: Advanced, Premium, and now customers on the Pro plan.

📊 Bring polls and audience engagement to the stage

We've introduced an exciting new feature that displays poll questions and answers visually on the main stage during a live event to help increase audience engagement during Wistia Live events!

Why Does It Matter?

Achieving an engaging webinar event is all about creating opportunities for hosts, panelists, and the audience to interact more dynamically. You can bring polls directly onto the stage in a dynamic, branded layout for maximum visibility and participation.

How Does It Work?

Hosts will see a "Bring to Stage" option under each poll they create.
Clicking this brings the poll questions and answers onto the main stage as a pinned stream.
Hosts can switch between different poll visualizations on stage at any time.
Poll layouts automatically adapt to your Live event's brand colors.
Only one element (poll, screen share, or Q&A) can be displayed on stage at a time.
Polls cannot be deleted while displayed on stage.
Limitations: 280 character limit for questions, 120 characters for answers, maximum of 8 answer options for each poll.

This update provides Wistia Live Premium, Advanced, and Pro customers with an exciting new poll visualization functionality, offering a powerful way to create engaging, interactive experiences for audiences.

📌 Pin important comments during live events

Hosts and co-hosts now have the power to pin any comment to the top of the chat panel, keeping it visible to all attendees throughout the event. This new feature empowers you to take control of the conversation, enhancing your confidence as a host.

Why Does It Matter?

As part of our host confidence-building tools, the ability to pin comments allows you to better engage with your audience and relay important information quickly and efficiently during live streams. Pinned comments remain at the top of the chat indefinitely until unpinned.

How Does It Work?

Only hosts and co-hosts can pin comments in the chat
Pinned comments can include any comments from a host, panelist, or audience member.
There's no limit on the number of comments pinned at once.
Click on a comment to pin it to the top of the chat panel
Click on a pinned comment to unpin it

This update gives you more control over the chat experience and better tools to facilitate an engaging two-way dialogue during your Wistia Live events.

Available to all Wistia Live Pro, Advanced, and Premium customers.

Maximize the Stage for Live Events!

What’s new?
Hosts and panelists can now maximize and minimize their view of the Stage during a Live Event.

Why does it matter?
This feature allows hosts and panelists to better focus on presenting by maximizing the Stage view to match what the audience sees. Maximizing removes potential distractions like the chat panel and backstage streams. It provides more confidence and control during live sessions.

How does it work?

At the bottom of the Stage, you can find the button to “maximize the stage.” By clicking on this, hosts and panelists can maximize the Stage at any time, hiding the chat panel and backstage from their own view only.

Maximizing does not impact the audience's view of the event
Hosts and panelists can minimize the Stage view to restore the chat panel and backstage streams in their interface
Minimizing also only affects the host/panelist's own view

This feature is available to all Pro, Advanced, and Premium Wistia Live customers.

💅 Add polish with layouts and backgrounds

We know a good video becomes great when it’s polished up and feels professional.

Before this update, aspect ratios could throw a real wrench in your polished plans. With any aspect ratio mismatch, you end up with those pesky black bars (called letterboxing).

Backgrounds that blend

✨With our brand-new backgrounds and layouts ✨ you can elevate any video to a branded beauty.

Starting today, you can change your video's background to one of various gradients, or any solid color. Your video will play beautifully on top of your color or gradient of choice and you’ll avoid letterboxing.

Remember your brand kit? Those colors will be available as quick selections, too.

Layouts that fit

Now—for any video in Wistia—you can use our editor to present your content in different layouts. Toggle between full and tile views to introduce padding and rounded corners. (Ooh, stylish.)

You can also scale and position your video within these layouts to center your subject, fill the canvas, or even shrink it down

When you're all done, just hit “save” to export your changes. And there you have it, a polished video you’re proud to show off.

🎯Get in position: zoom in for a perfect fit

We recently released a feature that lets you resize your videos in a single click. Now, we’re excited to introduce the ability to zoom and reposition your videos, so they look even more ✨polished✨ in every aspect ratio.

Get your video in just the right place

Zooming and repositioning your videos couldn’t be easier!

To reposition your video, just click into the video previewer and drag your video around until things look just right!
To zoom in/ out, click and drag on the corners of your video.

If you want to start fresh, click “Reset” to bring the selected clip back to its original size and position.

Get flexible zooming with recordings

For recordings made within Wistia, you can zoom and position your video the same way with both the “Camera” or “Screen”-only layouts.

If you have both your camera and screen selected, things work a little differently. If both are on screen, you can zoom and reposition your screen share while your webcam stays fixed.

And yeah, we have keyboard shortcuts

If you prefer editing via keyboard shortcuts, we’ve got you covered, too. If you have a clip selected in the timeline, you can zoom in or out using the +/ - keys, and reposition your video using the arrow keys.
